Contact: Miranda Pennington
sophiespostcard@strichardscc.com
Artwork will be listed for 10 days on eBay from
Thursday, 20th June with lots ending on the weekend
of Saturday, 29th and Sunday, 30th June 2024.
We are starting to get very excited about Sophie’s Secret Postcard auction next month.
All artwork has a starting bid of just £1.
The school is also producing a catalogue of the auction which
includes every artist and a photo of every postcard donation.
The catalogue can be ordered for £15
via our kickstarter project here or by
scanning the QR code. This will be
the only way to pre-order a catalogue
which will go to print in June and sent
out after the auction.
Thank you so much for your help and support of The Royal
Marsden Cancer Charity and this very special fundraising
event in memory of a dearly loved pupil, Sophie Maria Taylor
(2004-2017).
It is a wonderful way to support the charity and get an
amazing piece of artwork too. Over 1550 artworks have
already been donated for the auction so far with a few
weeks to go before the artwork deadline. We have been
overwhelmed by the quality and variety of the artwork
donated this year.
Since 2018, St Richard's Catholic College has raised almost
over £82,500 and auctioned over 3000 original artworks for
The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity in memory of former
pupil, Sophie Maria Taylor who loved art. We are hoping to
reach our fundraising target of £100,000 this summer.
Pupil Leadership
The Wellbeing Ambassadors continue
to run the Time to Talk Tuesday Club
which welcomes pupils from all years as
a place to meet friends, make new ones
and chat. The knitting and crochet has
developed into more of a craft session.
They are making pipe cleaner flowers,
worry dolls, friendship bracelets, fidget
toys and mobile phone charms, but also
continuing to knit and crochet!
The Heads and Deputy Heads of House
are launching their challenges for Terms
5 and 6. ‘Guess The Famous Person’
and a teacher bench ball competition
are two of the activities planned to raise
money for House charities and gain
valuable House points for that coveted
House Cup.
