GCSE Year 11 Results
A huge congratulations to all of Mrs Byrne’s GCSE music class
of 2025. They achieved exceptional results and should be very
proud of themselves. Their hard work and dedication over the
past 5 years has been paramount. Also, their commitment to
the extra curricular activities and performance opportunities has
been evident throughout their 5 years here at St Richard’s. Well
done to you all! Keep in touch and let us know about your musical
journeys.

All Year 7 pupils had the recruitment concert

on Friday, 12th September in school. They
listened to a fantastic concert where each
instrument will be played and introduced to the
pupils. The team explained how parents can

Welcome to Jack Jones, our new drum teacher
I started drum lessons when I began
secondary school and now have over 20
years experience playing and teaching
drums. I worked through my grades whilst
at school and went on to study Music at
GCSE, A Level and University.
I have a Masters degree from the University of Glasgow
in Music with specialisms in Percussion performance,
Film Music and Composition. I started performing in
bands when I was 14 and went on to record a number of
EPs and singles professionally. I have extensive stage
performance with a range of ensembles from Rock and
Jazz bands, to 'Pit' Orchestras for stage productions. I
really enjoy recording and producing music digitally, and
sound design. Later I trained as a teacher. I have taught
Music, English and Drama at secondary schools in East
Sussex. I love the passion and enthusiasm young people
bring to music, nothing beats it!
