Music

On Monday, 27th January the St Richard’s Catholic College

Choir sang at the Congress Theatre, Shackleton Rooms

as part of the Holocaust Memorial Concert. They had been

specifically asked by Dorit Oliver Wolff, an accomplished

musician, public speaker and author. She is also a

Holocaust survivor who has dedicated her life to educating

others about the consequences of the Holocaust. The choir

was outstanding! They moved people to tears with their

beautiful performances of ‘What The World Needs Now’

and ‘From a Distance’. These will be going on the school

website for all to listen to soon.

Instrumental lessons

Trial Brass Lessons - A few of our talented musicians have

been selected for an amazing opportunity to have a trial brass

lesson with our talented teacher, Michael Pilley. Mrs Byrne and

Mrs Potter have been so impressed with the Year 8 cohort and

a selection of Year 9 pupils. This will be a great opportunity for

them to see if they would like to take this any further. Watch

this space. We may have a future Louis Armstrong amongst

us! If you would like to sign up for brass lessons with Michael

Pilley, please click here.
